When I want to copy or move a subset of a table into another document, I can select a rectangular range of cells by clicking one corner of the area and then Shift-clicking the opposite corner.
I can then copy or cut the selected area and paste it elsewhere. However, the pasted content is currently just plain text, with no table structure or formatting preserved.
What I would expect is to be able to copy and paste the selected range while preserving its tabular structure, so that it can be pasted directly into, for example, Google Sheets, Excel, or another Grist table.
I am not referring to the existing full-table export/import functionality, which already works for this purpose. The request is specifically about copying and pasting a selected subset of rows and columns from a table.
A possibility could be to tranfert the pasted content into markdown table.
Another possible path to explore could be the creation of widget to be included into targeted document.
