Copy/paste from Grist with column names

Hello Grist Team.

I am using a lot copy-paste (Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V) from grist to others docs (mail, excel, power point,…)
All is Ok except I am missing the column name which I have to retype.

Including it in the copy-paste would save a lot of time & ease of use…

I implemented this in PR 1208.

You can see a preview deployed at https://grist-rtwfroody-grist-core-copy-headers.fly.dev/.

another thing that really bothers me you can´t copy, is the name of the TABLE. The columns you can copy the name, but the table you simply can´t select and copy it’s name

considering formulas won´t work if there is any mismatch of letters or even capital vs non capital letters, copying the table name makes the work easier

ps: someone might say you may just click the widget, get the name and replace spaces by “_”

Except that if I create a table/widget with the name. “Aprovação de Ações e Órgãos Governamentais”, the table name will be changed to Aprovacao_de_Acoes_e_Orgaos_Governamentais", removing all the cedillas, acute and grave and til accent marks.

At that point, it would be easier to rewrite it all.

Hi !

Thanks, but shortly gave it it trial from your link → does no work (.xlsx W11), no header pasted (Ctrl C/Ctrl V) with eiher column, row or full table slected.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

To copy with headers you need to use control-shift-C, or you can right click and select Copy with headers.
I left the regular control-C behavior unchanged because that is also useful.

Hello @Tim_Newsome ,

Ok that’s nice, work well and helps integrating grist in other office like docs on the fly.
Hope it will be added in a next release…
