Software I use frequently exports in CSV, each item has a string with ^ as a delimiter between the fields. In Excel, I can use ‘text to columns’ to put each field in its respective column. Is there a way I can do this in Grist without having to use Excel as a middle step?
Example: I’ve exported a report/list of 500 books. Each book has a row of data Title^Author^Publisher that need to be in their own columns.
Edit: We use ^ as a delimiter because its not used in cataloging or standard writing for titles, names etc.
It does. The issue is that the data exports as CSV into a txt file, which Grist doesn’t recognise. I have since solved that by changing the file extension. So the problem is SOLVED! Thank you for you help though.
