Feature Request - 2FA / 2-Step Verification

Would love to see multi-factor authentication support to improve account security. Ideally compatible with well established vendors / apps such as Authy (Twilio), Google Authenticator or Duo.

Hello @Sharif_Khalladi and welcome to the community!

It’s a very good request, and a timely one. We have wanted 2-factor authentication ourselves, and this project just recently moved to the top of our list. It is now also on our roadmap, and we are about to start working on it.

Meanwhile, you can have it indirectly by signing in using a Google Account, and the Google Account can have 2FA enabled.

Hello, is there something new with 2FA on Grist?
Regards.

Hello @Przemek_Skw ,

Since this conversation start, two-factor authentication (2FA) has in fact been added to Grist. It may be configured in your profile settings, if you sign in with an email and password. It supports SMS and Authenticator app as the second factor.

Thanks, so I don’t see that option because I’m login with Google?

Correct. If you sign in with Google, Grist trusts Google’s authentication, which may include 2FA if you configured it in Google’s account settings. If you sign in with email + password, then you have the option of adding 2FA within Grist itself.

That’s great. Thank You very much.
Regards.
