Getting a global view of all my "sections" pages

Hi Grist users!

I am new to this app, yet I can see the potential of using it at its fullest!

I have to work with my colleagues on financial data. Yet, I do have 15 sheets on Excel, but this isn’t really user-friendly. I would like to have them all on 1 page for me to see all the info I need in 1space. In the same time, I still need the 15 subpages in order for each one of the sections to be updated by their owner.

So far, I have my global data page (I have copied all my section data), 15 pages for each section and I have attributed the permissions as it needed to be.

However, I think I have built it wrong since the idea is to have the sections to be the referenced in the global one and not the opposite.

Here is what I need : Person A, in charge of section 1, updates their data and cannot modify any other page; Person B, in charge of section 2, updates their data… And I need to see all the section updated automatically on 1 page, but I don’t need that page to be modified. I need it to be updated simultaneously with all the 15 other pages.

Here is what I did : I have uploaded my Excel file on grist and have made 1 table with all the data (called it global data). Then, created my section pages and have made a reference to the global data page. Meaning, I can modify the global data page and it will be updated on the section page (not 100% correctly though). But it won’t work the opposite way, which is the one I need.

Now, I have tried to do it the other way but it doesn’t work (or at least I can make it) since it is multiple references in the same column.

Is it even possible to what I need ? If yes, how ? Am I supposed to switch my lines and columns in order to make it happen ? What if I have more than 1 column for each section ?

thanks a lot for your help - if I made it clear anyhow!

Best,
