Hello grist community, I have a suggestion for adding an optional subtype attribute to hyperlinks in text columns. This is to handle cases like email (mailto, …). I currently do it by using a first column for data entry and then a formula for creating the mailto entry in the hyperlink.
Could be a supplementary dropbox when hyperlink that lists:
- http / web page → default case.
- mailto / email
- ftp
- ssh
could be opt-in only to not bother those who are not using it.
This would automatically show the url scheme and allow to pick the appropriate user agent automatically (browser, email client …).
