Solution for "E-Invoice"-Management or XML-Invoices

This may or may not be more relevant for the germany community of GRIST. The topic targets a need that could become relevant in roughly two years.

In my company, our whole invoice-management is still entangled in Excel and Word. Converting and upgrading it to GRIST would be a relatively straightforward process.
But the german government decided that all companies should be able to send and receive electronic invoices in either the format “XRechnung” or “ZUGFeRD”. Both seem to be variations of XML-files. Especially the creation of such formats will be mandatory until the end of 2027, at the very latest. A simple PDF will not suffice anymore.

I am now contemplating whether it makes sense at all to switch this part of our work to GRIST or if we start with another, more specialised solution. A specialised solution would have the benefit of regulatory safety but we would lose the integration with GRIST. Invoices basically tie into many of our processes and keeping it all within one solution would be quite attractive.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of file format or faces the same problem for the future?

Another possible solution would be a specialised invoicing solution that syncs with GRIST via API. If someone has experience in that regard, I would be very grateful.
