Feature Request: Modification/Enhancements for "Minimizing Widgets"

Per the March 2023 Newsletter, “Minimizing Widgets” functionality was introduced. This is very useful in many cases, but I have a couple of ideas for improvement in dealing with widgets:

  1. Provide the ability to “collapse” widgets, like you would with an accordion UI element – i.e., keep them where they are (and keep them draggable), but only show the “title bar” of the widget. The width would stay the same to keep the page layout consistent. The use case is that for many custom widgets, they need to exist on the page somewhere in order for the widget to function, but “minimizing” them to the top of the page actually makes them MORE visible to users.
  2. Allow widgets to be hidden, but still technically (for linking/functional purposes) on the page. The ability to view hidden widgets could be exposed either somewhere on the page itself, or in the page context menu of the page in the left sidebar.

Thanks for listening!

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but in addition…it would be great if the widget bar had the option to be either fixed height (as it currently is) or dynamic ie. expands when the mouse hovers over it and shrinks when it moves away.

Having these two options (collapsible widget and dynamic widget bar) would allow record selection to work much more efficiently in terms of not wasting screen real estate.

Thanks, David.
